This is a great go-to dish when you don't really feel like cooking or if you're having people over and don't want to be chained to your stove. It's warm, comfortable, delicious and simple. Paired with some crusty garlic bread and a bottle of red, this meal is a winner! This isn't one of those sauces that you need to let simmer for hours on the stove (even though those are super yummy too, obvs.) For this recipe, take 1 small onion, chopped and saute in a pan with a little olive oil over medium heat until the onion is translucent. Next add 2 cloves of garlic, chopped and cook for 2 minutes (make sure not to burn the garlic!) Next add your ground beef. Once beef has browned, add 2 large cans of crushed tomatoes (this will make enough sauce for 4-6 people depending on their appetite!) Next add a splash (1/2 cup) of red wine and a palm full of crushed red pepper flakes and let simmer for 15 minutes or until you are ready to eat. While the pasta is boiling (in super salty water,) turn the oven onto broil and cut a baguette in half. Drizzle with olive oil, garlic (as much as you'd like,) salt, pepper and maybe some fresh basil...pop it in the oven for 5-7 minutes. Once the pasta is done, top your dish with fresh parmigiano reggiano, a side salad and you have a dish that will WOW your guests!
