Mediterranean Bruschetta

Last night after work, I went to the grocery store to pick something up for dinner. I had no plan going in, thus leading to lots of wandering. Finally, I realized that I wasn't making any progress and decided to head over to the fish counter. There were some amazing looking FRESH shrimp in their shells so i opted for a 1lb those...and then I saw the calamari which looked amazing as well so I thought I'd pick up a 1/2lb of those and figure it out. I knew I had tons of fresh tomatoes at home so that would be perfect...and then grabbed some kalamata olives, arugula & a loaf of sourdough. Below is what I did

Rinse the shrimp under cold water

Remove the shell

Cut a line from end to end and remove the black "vein"

Add olive oil, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes

Rinse the calamari tubes and slice into 1 inch sections

Add to the shrimp mixture

Cut 1 inch pieces

Add whole crushed garlic cloves to 1 tablespoon of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil and bring to medium heat

Add sliced bread once butter has melted

Add olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt & pepper to tomatoes

Slice the olives

5 minutes before serving, add shrimp

Cook shrimp for 1 minute on each side, once you flip the shrimp add the calamari
