New Years Resolution?

Well, here we are...New Years Eve...so after the champs have been popped and the new year has been rung in we are all ready to have a fresh start. The diets begin, projects are started and then around February 1st most of us have let those new years resolutions fall to the waist-side. I am definitely one of these people. However, I feel like having a new years resolution kind of sets you up for failure. We tend to go to extremes and that isn't good for anyone. So this year I have a little on-going list in my head for things I want to do but ease into it.

1. Yoga- I know I've said it before, but I feel so much better when yoga is a part of my daily routine. I may not be able to dedicate 30 minutes to it but if I can do 5 minutes here and there (commercial breaks, baby Jack's nap time) I'll be satisfied.
2. Shop Smart- I never pay full price for clothes. I love a sale. However, when it comes to groceries I could use a little help. I go to the grocery store everyday and buy what I need for dinner that night. I always thought that was saving money because you're buying what you need for that day and food isn't going to waste. But I still feel like I'm spending too much on food. I think the key to saving money at the grocery store is to plan out your meals for the week and work with your leftovers to create new dishes. So that's what I'll TRY to do...meal planning. YIKES

3. Be Present- The most important resolution. I feel like I am pretty good at this, however, you can always be better. They're right...they grow up so fast! Baby Jack isn't much of a baby these days. He's 14 months and he is changing ever day. It's easy for me to get caught up in the mechanics of our daily schedule, and most of the time I feel like I'm on autopilot however, I want to take time to slow down and enjoy the little moments with Jack. I am constantly being told to savor these moments and I am really going to take that to heart this year.
